Group bookings

Stag/hen parties, or other large groups will normally be asked* to take sole occupancy of the bunkhouse, availability permitting, at a rate of £950 per night.

The Leader (person who has made the booking) is the responsible named person and is responsible for the following: -

50% deposit payable at time of booking

Balance to be paid 4 weeks prior to arrival.

Provide a list of names of all members in the group, 3 weeks prior to arrival.

Provide cash or credit/debit card for security deposit of £20pp, to be processed in advance of arrival.  These monies will be refunded in the days following departure, assuming all is in order.  All breakages, damage and excessive cleaning requirements will be deducted from the security deposit.

*at our discretion we may consider relaxing the sole use requirement, depending on the timing of your visit, nature of your trip, make up of your group etc.  In these cases, a security deposit will still be required and if any complaints should be received from other guests relating to your group, we reserve the right to retain your full deposit.  i.e. do not pretend you are not a stag in order to have your booking taken.  It will quickly become apparent and cost you in the end. Any behaviour disturbing others may result in immediate eviction, with no refund.

Arrival and departure

Guests may take possession of their accommodation after 4pm on the arrival date (or other time by special arrangement), and should vacate the accommodation by 10am on the departure date.

No liability can be accepted should adverse weather or travel conditions delay your travel plans, so please inform us at the earliest opportunity.

Check-in is now done with the details sent to you in advance and is available 24 hours. You do not need to see a member of staff on arrival, or departure.

Prices

Prices displayed are for exclusive room, or full bunkhouse use. Prices vary depending on number of occupants in each room. Prices include tax, use of bedding, linen, towels, showers, drying room, kitchen and its equipment.

Payment

We request payment at the time of booking, which can be made by bank transfer, or PayPal at the time of booking. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Solo, Switch and no booking fee is charged. The card used must be in the name of the person making the booking. Transactions are in pound sterling.  International bank transfers may incur a charge, to be paid by guest.

Please be aware if booking with Airbnb, they will charge you (and us) a service fee. It is always cheaper for both of us to book directly. Please email sayhello@aviemore-bunkhouse to do so.

Bookings made within 4 weeks of the arrival date are required to pay in full, upon reservation. Greater than 4 weeks: a deposit of 50% of the total cost is payable on booking, the remainder of the balance to be paid no later than 4 weeks prior to arrival.

The booking will be considered as confirmed only when the appropriate payment has been received.

Confirmation will be available upon request. The booking reference number displayed on the booking statement should be recorded and retained safely as proof of booking and payment.

The person making payment will be deemed the lead person (unless otherwise specified) and assumes responsibility for the accuracy of the booking, the payment details submitted and for conveying all necessary booking details, terms and conditions to the other members of the party. If any member of the booking party has special needs, it is the responsibility of the lead person to ensure that any requirements are identified and communicated to Bunkhouse staff.

If you must cancel, inform us at the earliest possible opportunity! We will make every effort to re-let the accommodation, but will not be held responsible for doing so.  In the event of cancellation the following charges will apply: -

a) 4 or more weeks prior to arrival date - refund 90% of monies paid (10% administration charge).

b) Within 4 weeks - refund up to 90% of monies received, if we can re let beds. If we do not succeed in re-letting the accommodation, the hirer will be liable for the total booking cost.

c) Bookings cancelled within 72 hours of arrival, or non-arrival, will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total booking cost. Arrival is deemed to be 6pm on any given day.

All cancellations must be notified in writing and received by the Bunkhouse before the charges are confirmed.

Insurance

All guests are strongly advised to take out adequate insurance against cancellation, damage to baggage, loss and/or damage to property etc.

Age Restrictions

Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who shall be responsible for them. Adults with minors will be asked to rent family rooms, rather than share with others in dorms.

Groups and families are required to have suitable numbers of adults to ensure the good conduct and safety of party members and other guests. All decisions in this regard are at the discretion of the Bunkhouse staff.

Responsible adults are required to familiarise themselves with safety and emergency issues and actively consider the risks associated with hazards, including bunk beds, kitchen equipment, water and road traffic. Your attention is drawn to the proximity of the road in front of the Bunkhouse and the hazards associated with the River Spey opposite. Parents or guardians of young children are advised that persons under 7 years are recommended not to occupy upper bunks.

Occupancy

Only those persons listed on the booking form may occupy the accommodation. We reserve the right to terminate the booking, without refund, to vary or re-allocate the accommodation if this condition is breached, or where all material facts are not disclosed. Beds may not be sub-let.

Admission and Eviction

We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone who, in the opinion of our staff, is not fit to take charge of the property, or be in the company of other guests. In any such case the contract will be terminated without further liability.

We also reserve the right to terminate the Contract at any time, or remove any person, or persons (or persons being responsible for others), due to unreasonable behaviour, damage to property, or causing, or likely to cause injury, annoyance, or offence to other guests. Any refund will be entirely at the discretion of the Bunkhouse.  Our staff also have the right to enter any room at any time as occasion may demand, to ensure that cleanliness is preserved and routine maintenance may be carried out.

No Smoking Premises

Smoking is prohibited in the Bunkhouse.  There will be a £100 charge for deep cleaning of room(s) if smoking has occurred.  Persons smoking, misusing alcohol or drugs render themselves liable to eviction. Illegal activities will be reported to the authorities.

Personal Effects

We will not be held responsible for the loss or damage to personal property of guests occupying the accommodation. All property, vehicles, their contents and personal effects are on the premises and car park entirely at your own risk. Any lost property will be retained for ten days, before being disposed of / given to charity if unclaimed.

Accidents

All persons have a 'duty of care' for others, so if you see something potentially dangerous, don't ignore it - but do something about it and tell a member of staff. Any accident must be reported to reception or the duty manager. We will not be responsible for any injury or death, save insofar as it results from the proven negligence of our staff. All our guests are encouraged to ensure that they have adequate property and personal accident insurance for their stay.

Your Pet

We are sorry but pets are prohibited inside the Bunkhouse, unless by prior arrangement. Dogs can only be accepted on the grounds with the specific permission of the Bunkhouse and in specific rooms. They should not be left unattended and dogs must be kept on a lead and prohibited from fouling all areas around the accommodation.

Noise & Disturbance

Please consider others. Guests are expected to consider the consequences of their actions and to minimise any noise, especially between 11.00pm and 8.00am. No late night disturbance will be tolerated (or very, very early)! If you are up and hitting the hills early, please also be considerate and recognise others’ right to sleep.

Accommodation

If for any reason the accommodation is unsatisfactory please inform us immediately so that appropriate action can be taken. We cannot accept subsequent claims for shortcomings not so notified.

Availability

The booking is made on the understanding that we will make the accommodation and amenities available to you on the dates stated. Should this not be possible for reasons within our due care we will endeavour to provide you with suitable alternative accommodation. Should no other accommodation be available at the time we will offer you alternative dates or refund of your monies, but you will have no other claim or remedy against us.

Force Majeure: We cannot accept any liability where the booking could not be fulfilled due to circumstances which we could not, even with due care, have foreseen or avoided. Such events include but are not limited to, war, threat of war, civil commotion or strife, hostilities, industrial dispute, natural disaster, fire, act of God, terrorist activities, technical problems or closure with transportation, quarantine, epidemics, weather conditions, government action, destruction or damage of the Bunkhouse through fire, explosion, flood, storm or other weather damage, criminal damage and all similar situations beyond our control.

We cannot guarantee to provide alternative accommodation and reserve the right to alter, or delete amenities, or facilities without prior notice.
